Alex provides a personal but professional approach to all of her competition horses, and treats every one as an individual.
Horses are not machines, no matter how old or experienced, so careful, thoughtful management, training and competing of your horse can make the difference between a very short or very long fruitful career. They were also never designed to all fit in one box, and we are proud to acknowledge that fact, and try with every horse to discover what their strengths are, as well as working on their weaknesses, to find where in the competition industry they belong and improve them to the best of their ability.

No one likes the thought of their beloved horse being out of work due to injury or illness. Sometimes the task of carrying out all of the aftercare they require can seem daunting and there is always that worry that something will go wrong and potentially stall their recovery.
Horses can come back from a period of time off very different to how they were before their break, and it can take a great deal of experience to deal with a horse safely when it is a little stir crazy and has been shut in for a while.

Alex has regular clients who have lessons every week but she is always happy to help new people who feel they need a bit of help from the ground. She has experience helping people of all levels from beginners up to international riders and has a patient but pro-active approach to teaching in order to help her clients get the most out of their individual horses.

Our schooling livery can be bespoke, depending on the length of time you’re looking to have your horse schooled for.
Whether you have a young horse that needs putting on the straight and narrow for a few months or you want the piece of mind that your horse is kept well schooled and exercised to allow you to do the things you want to do with them in your spare time, part or full time schooling livery is the perfect solution. The amount of time we spend riding your horse can be flexible and tailored to you and your horses needs.

Breaking a young horse in is not a job for the faint hearted! But you can definitely give them and yourself the best chance of success by giving them to a professional to do the job for you.
There is not only one hard and fast, correct way to back a horse, but there are definitely methods that give better results in the long run and a huge aspect of the success of these is in the confidence and self assurance of the handler and the jockey.
