OUR TEAM

ALEX KENNEDY

DSC_5782.jpg

Rider and Yard Co-Manager

Alex is the main competition and training rider and yard manager.

She already has a wealth of experience for her age and spent 6 years learning the building blocks of the industry in a competition & training yard before starting out on her own in 2018.

Alex is the creator of the yard ethos and is passionate about losing the 'one size fits all' approach to training and caring for horses, competition or otherwise. She firmly believes horses are and should be treated as individuals, and this way of thinking is reflected throughout the yard.

Her achievements to date include:

  • 2015 - Junior Europeans Team member - Team Bronze 🥉

  • 2016 - Hopetoun CCI2*S - 1st 🥇

  • 2017 - Young Rider Europeans Team member - Individual Silver 🥈 and Team Bronze 🥉 (Best British rider)

  • 2018 - Young Rider Europeans Team member - Individual Bronze 🥉 (Best British rider)

  • 2018 - Millstreet CCI4*S Nations Cup - Double Clear (first time at this level)

  • 2018 - Ballindenisk CCI4*S - 1st 🥇

  • 2019 - Tattersalls CCI3*L - 4th

  • 2019 - Ballindenisk CCI4*S - 4th

  • 2020 - Wellington Intermediate - 1st 🥇

CHARLOTTE KENNEDY

Freelance Instructor, Rider & Groom

Charlotte is Alex’s younger sister, training to be a professional groom as an apprentice. She is in charge of the day to day work on the yard and is Alex's travelling competition groom. She is very experienced for her age and shows a lot of maturity when working with the horses. She is also a rider and helps with the horses ridden fitness work and hacking. She has a great attitude towards her work and shares Alex's belief that working with each horses characters is the best way to reach their potential. Charlotte is currently competing at BE Novice / 2* level on her two horses and hope to gradually move up the grades whilst still working as a groom.

HALINA NICHOLSON

Halina has been with us a year now. I don't know how we ever managed without her. She has a keen eye for detail and nothing escapes her. She is pivotal to the smooth running of the yard. Sadly she is leaving us to go on Maternity Leave in November but we wish her all the best and look forward to her return.

Alice has been working for us since the beginning of the year. She brings a lot of experience as she has her own livery yard at home which she runs alongside working at Kennedy Equestrian. She is a great team player and has an exceptional eye for detail. She cares for the horses extremely well and her sweeping is second to none. She keeps Red Gorilla in business with brooms!

She has experience with a large variety of horses. We wish her all the best with the new addition to her family and no doubt will be using her services again in the future.

Having completed her Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Equine Management with Distinction at Sparsholt in June, she started working full time for us in July 2023. With her horse Magic, she currently enjoys fun rides and showing and is working towards competing in dressage and showjumping.

JANE FIDGEON

Jane has worked for us since the 90's. She has experience teaching in Riding Schools, Livery Yards, Arab Racing and Endurance and all round horse care. She is in the enviable position of being able to retire to her Villa in Italy in the summer months but returns to help us in the winter.

JO MORTON

Equine Chiropractor

Jo morton website picture edited.PNG

Alex uses Jo to treat all of her competition horses and other liveries at the yard have chosen to use her services as well.
Alex has been using Jo since early 2019, and wouldn’t have anyone else.
The difference we feel in our horses way of going and how comfortable they clearly are after Jo treating them is more than enough proof of how good she is at her job.
Several of our horses are very different in all aspects; size, shape and where their individual weaknesses and tensions lie, and she is able to keep all of them feeling their best.
We can rely on her to always do what is best for the horses and ensure no issue is left to fester, and to be honest with us about what she feels, even if it’s not what we have felt!
Jo's motives are in line with our own and she shares our holistic approach to horse management and so we trust her implicitly to always advise and do what is best for the horses.
