OUR FACILITIES
Kennedy Equestrian is located in the heart of rural Hampshire, surrounded by rolling countryside and a mere 20 minute hack from the South Downs National Park.
We are only 10 minutes away from Winchester city and direct access to the A34 and J9 of the M3. Our location is perfect for a competition yard and gives us easy access to many different shows, events and training venues.
We have a lovely, homely facility with a comfortable, well ventilated American barn housing 12 of our 18 stables. Our additional 6 stables reside in another enclosed barn on the other side of our complex.
All of our stables have rubber matting and hand-laid brick automatic drinkers and are a roomy 12x12 feet in size.
The highest quality hay is made at home and straw baled locally by HK Agri as well as the highest quality haylage available along with shavings if preferred.
To make sure the horses can relax and enjoy nature, we have 8 individual day turnout paddocks and 5 individual night turnout paddocks as well as herd turnout for mares & geldings respectively where the horses can spend quality time outdoors day or night, depending on their needs.
Our newest addition in Autumn 2020 is the completion of our covered, 5 horse Claydon horse walker. This allows the added benefit of more time out of the stable, moving around for horses who need it, as well as the ability to warm up and cool down pre & post exercise.
This is situated next to our all-weather turnout pen completed in Spring 2020.
Our 50m x 30m schooling arena - extended and resurfaced in 2018 - is a huge asset to our yard.
It is floodlit with LED bulbs allowing use any time of day, and the high quality Sportrack wax/sand surface means no puddles, and no freezing!
We have many new projects on our list, our current one in progress is the creation of a covered wash bay, with areas to cross-tie, a hot water shower and solarium.
Our most recent lockdown project underway at the moment is the renovation of our paddock fencing in our newly acquired 10 acre turnout field.
All perimeter fencing is post and rail with internal fencing consisting of 3 line electric rope reaching 6ft in height, allowing horses to see each other but deterring them from communicating through the fence!
The main yard houses our heated office, kitchen and bathroom facilities as well as an insulated, alarmed rug room and the yards tack room, also alarmed and deadlocked at night.
Our tack room allows every person to have their own tack and small equipment storage in a compact bay with 2 drawers and an option of 1 or 2 saddle and bridle pegs.
Also in this area of the yard is our secure feed room, our tack cleaning area with washing machine & centaur rug dryer and next door is our hay/straw barn.
We have WiFi available to all on the yard and this can be reached from most areas of the buildings.
